The Right To Be Seen
The event The Right to Be (Seen): Afrodescendant Women Artists in Italy and Beyond National Borders spanned three days and featured participation of Afrodescendant directors and actresses, writers, photographers, scholars, filmmakers, and journalists. These participants were encouraged to examine the themes of multi-ethnic identity, gender and race in Italian and transnational cinema and TV, immigration, and the concept of “citizenship” through a postcolonial, decolonial, transnational, and intersectional lens, American and international participants will examined these topics in relation to their own societies and cultures.
My job for this project was to complete the visual materials necessary to market the event on campus. During my time with Bucknell I created 9 artist posters, multiple event posters, the event program, postcards, nametags, table cards and thank you cards.
